Tax should be implemented on businesses using social media: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar

On Thursday, during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariats, the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) briefed the committee about the use of VPNs and expressed concerns regarding it.

In the same meeting, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar voiced his concerns that many people do not follow security laws and often violate them. He pointed out that these individuals have the freedom to operate their offices without proper regulation.

According to him, more than 100 million people in Pakistan use social media to establish their businesses without paying any taxes.

He further added that, in comparison to other countries, where there are proper tax systems for those who use social media to conduct their businesses, a similar system should be implemented in Pakistan.
