Iran’s Red Flag: What Does the Assassination of a Hamas Leader Mean?”

The red flag has been raised on the mosque of Jamkaran in Qom, Iran, signaling a warning that revenge will be taken.

Yesterday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a direct missile attack in Iran along with his bodyguard.

The Supreme Leader has issued a statement declaring that Ismail Haniyeh was martyred on Iranian soil, and it is Iran’s duty to seek revenge for this attack.

“The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime martyred our dear guest in our house and made us bereaved,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that “it also prepared the ground for a harsh punishment for itself.”

This red flag was also hoisted on January 3, 2020, following the death of Qasem Soleimani, and again on January 5, 2024, after the Kerman bombing.
