Pakistan and Iraq Collaborate to Ease Arbaeen Pilgrimage for Pakistani Pilgrims

In a significant development, Pakistan and Iraq are working together to make the Arbaeen pilgrimage more accessible for Pakistani pilgrims. An agreement was recently signed between the Iraqi ambassador and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, focusing on easing the journey for thousands of pilgrims.

Key highlights of this agreement include the waiver of visa fees for all Pakistani pilgrims, a move aimed at making the pilgrimage more affordable and hassle-free. The visas will now be issued directly by the Iraqi Embassy, and the quota for Pakistani pilgrims has been significantly increased.

In addition to visa facilitation, special flights from Pakistan to Iraq will be arranged for the convenience of the pilgrims. The schedule for these PIA special flights will be announced soon by Federal Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif. To protect pilgrims from exploitation, a crackdown on agents charging excessive fees has also been announced.

This initiative is expected to not only ease the pilgrimage process but also strengthen the diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iraq, fostering better cooperation and development between the two nations.
